The 58th Grammy Awards ceremony will hold tonight at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. “The award recognizes the best recordings, compositions and artists of the eligibility year, which is from October 1, 2014, to September 30, 2015.”
Angelique Kidjo is up for the award for the Best World Music Album for her album ‘Sings’. Also in the same category are Ladysmith Black Mambazo with Ella Spira and The Inala Ensemble with ‘Music from Inala’.
Angelique Kidjo’s profile continues to rise, just last year, the artiste teamed up with Nigerian songstress Asa on Eva. Earlier this year, she also collaborated with Omawunmi on Play Na Play, both already major hits. A budding actress, Angelique Kidjo will star in her debut role as Dr Zimmerman in Kunle Afolayan’s The CEO scheduled for release later this year.
